The 2024 Nissan Altima Trim Levels Comparison
Performance
The Nissan Altima trim levels are the S, SV, SR, SL, and SR VC-Turbo. The first four trims offer a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine, while the SR VC-Turbo has a 2.0-liter variable compression turbo DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine. All models have an XTRONIC continuously variable transmission.
All five trims have front-wheel drive, but only the SV, SR, and SL have all-wheel drive. All trims have ABS and brake assist. All models have independent strut front and multi-link rear suspensions with front and rear stabilizer bars. Every trim level has electric-powered dual-pinion steering. The estimated gas mileage for all trims ranges from 25-27 city mpg, 34-39 highway mpg, and 29-32 combined mpg, depending on engine type and drivetrain.
Driver Assistance Technology
Forward and rear collision warning, pedestrian detection, lane departure, blind-spot warning, a rear sonar system, traction control, and intelligent driver alertness are available on all trim levels. Cruise control is available on the S, SV, and SR models. ProPILOT assist is available as a standard feature on the SL and SR VC-Turbo and as part of the SV and SR models’ premium packages.
Safety
All trim levels have Nissan’s advanced airbag system, which includes front airbags, side-impact airbags for front and rear seat occupants, and curtain airbags with rollover sensors for head protection.
Exterior
The Nissan Altima is a four-door, five-passenger sedan. The S trim has steel wheels with wheel covers, while the other trim levels have alloy wheels. The SL and SR VC-Turbo have a power sliding glass moonroof and this is also available in the SV and SR premium packages.
Interior

The S model has a 7-inch touch-screen display, the SV and SR models have a NissanConnect 8-inch color touch-screen display, which can be upgraded to a 12.3-inch screen through their premium packages, and the SL and SR VC-Turbo have the 12.3-inch color touch-screen display as a standard feature.
The SL and SR VC-Turbo have door-to-door navigation, SiriusXM traffic and travel links, Hello Nissan, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM 360L. These features are also available for the SV and SR models through their premium packages. The SL and SR VC-Turbo have a Bose premium audio system with nine speakers.
